Dear Valued Customers:
As you may be aware,
Thailand produces nearly half of the world's hard disk drives (HDD), and
production of HDDs has been severely impacted by catastrophic flooding.
We are doing everything in our power to minimize the impact of this
natural disaster on your business. However, certain video recording
devices will have limited availability until suppliers are able to resume
production and delivery of the necessary components.
For the time being, we
have adequate stocks of most DVRs, but for 700 Series Recorders we will
only deliver products with one internal hard disk. By limiting the
internal storage, we can maximize the installations you are able to
complete, with the option to easily add additional disks once HDD
production and availability increases.
In addition, the limited
supply of HDDs has substantially increased market prices. While we have
striven to offset the rise in costs, we cannot fully absorb the increase.
Therefore, effective November 15, 2011, we will introduce a price
increase on our digital video recorders and disk arrays. We regret that
we must take this action, but we trust you understand why it is
necessary. Pricing details will be included in an updated price list
available December 1, 2011. We plan to reverse this increase as soon as
market pricing for HDDs allows and will provide you with regular updates
until the situation is resolved.
The natural disaster in
Thailand is disrupting the supply of many electronic components used in
video surveillance equipment but only impacts Bosch video recording and
storage products. The rest of our broad portfolio is unaffected and
remains at normal availability levels and pricing.
We thank you for your
continued business and your understanding as we work with our suppliers.

recording and storage products, please contact our customer service team
